Tools + Materials
# sandpaper (light and medium grit)
# tack cloth
# latex primer
# paintbrushes
# latex paint
# tinted glaze
# polyurethane
1.Lightly sand the original finish. You do not need to sand down to bare wood. Wipe clean with the tack cloth.
2. Brush on a coat of latex primer. Let dry.
3. Apply a coat of latex paint. Let dry. Using medium grit sandpaper, randomly sand raised surfaces and the panel to reveal some primer coat and create a worn look.
4. Apply brown-tinted glaze or a color of your choice to mottle the fresh paint or try folk art paint in a bronze metallic in long strokes to enhance the aged look. Let dry. Apply two coats of polyurethane to protect the look and give it easy-care, wipe-clean kid friendly!
